| Welcome to Lazy Lane Miniature Australian Shepherds! |
We are located in Madison, Ohio, a small town in the northeastern corner of the state. We live on 11 acres and
are surrounded by many more acres of nursery fields. A beautiful setting to raise a family, as well as our dogs!
We became familiar with the Australian Shepherd breed many years ago, but were introduced to the Miniature
Australian Shepherd within the last few years - and immediately fell in love! The "minis" have the same level of
energy and intelligence as the standard Australian Shepherds, just in a slightly smaller package. They are a
devoted friend and guardian, and are naturally protective. They can be suspicious of strangers, so they should be
well socialized as puppies. They make excellent companions, love to snuggle as lap dogs, but also enjoy working
small stock. They are lively, agile, attentive and eager to please, which makes them easy to train. They seem to
have a "sixth sense" about what the owner wants. They need lots of exercise and love having a job to do, even if
it's just playing frisbee! If they are left alone for too long without any interaction, they get easily bored and
may become destructive. If you are considering adding a Miniature Australian Shepherd to your family, be sure
to plan for plenty of "activity time"!
